In the eleventh minute Takáč scored, but his goal was not recognized for the offside. Afte six minutes later Qose just missed the target after a corner kick. In the thirty-ninth minute guest defender blocked Novotný´s attempt. Subsequently Šípoš tipped Hašek´s shot from border of the penalty area, Mojžiš did not used Takáč´s pass and hit to crossbar and guest defender blocked Gerec´s dangerous shot in a big chance.
In the second hlaf time the home players were more active, but Nitra defended well. At the end of the match Takáč used Brenkus´s pass and scored – 1:0. Subsequently Kostadinov missed the target in a big chance.
Ján Haspra (head coach of MFK Ružomberok): „First of all, I am extremely happy that we were able to win this match, which was very difficult, because the Nitra rival prepared very well for us, especially tactically. His performance was on the edge of possibilities. He played very warriorly. We, too, have come to terms with this, but we are already struggling for the third time with one big problem, changing chances. It was confirmed today. There was a very good passage in the first half time when we could break the opponent with a goal before the end of the half time, but we failed. We went to the second half with the intention to decide the match, but the minutes were very fast. Our nervousness grew and grew. In the end, we were helpless at some stages because I really put down my hat before the opponent showed off on the defensive, but eventually lucky approached us. Today it was about happiness. Three points remained with us after the performance, which had a quality phase and lower quality. We are facing another issue. Players left us from the wings. We know who we are talking about - Peťo Gal Andrezly and Erik, so we have a bit of a problem there, because the players who play there are not accustomed to these posts, but I hope they will learn it over time and we will be dangerous in these areas as well.“
