In the ninth minute De Marco did not use Apau´s pass and Macík caught his attempt. After seven minutes Greif tipped Regáli´s shot. In the twenty-second minute Ljubičić just missed the target from behind of the penalty area. About seventeen minutes later Bobček used Regáli´s pass and scored – 1:0. At the end of the first half-time Kostadinov did not use Regáli´s pass and Greif caught his dangerous shot.
In the fifty-first minute guest defender blocked Qose´s shot. After two minutes domestic defender blocked dangerous Ljubičić´s shot. In the seventy-third minute Greif caught Kostadinov´s attempt. About eleven minutes later Šporar scored from behind of the penalty area – 1:1. In the eighty-sixth minute Greif tipped Zsigmund´s shot from behind of the penalty area. Subsequently Novotný did not use Kostadinov´s pass and just missed the target in a big chance.
Ján Haspra (head coach of MFK Ružomberok): „It was a big event for us. Slovan came after a perfect match in Braga with a top European team. The opponent has a hard program, we wanted to wear it out with our fighting and today with a very good game. Our effort was to eliminate its strengths, combining abilities, what we did successfully during the whole match. We used break situations. There were also many chances. Finally, the match ended in a draw that I would have been happy with before the match. I can´t say I am dissatisfied now, but we could get more out of the match. A few minutes were missing."
